Frequently Asked Questions

Is this service really free?

Yes. SoberLivingHelp.org is free to use. We connect you with trusted transitional housing programs that accept Medicaid and offer low-cost or subsidized options.

Do I need to have Medicaid to qualify?

Yes. Most of our partner programs require that you have active Medicaid coverage to help with clinical support, housing coordination, or other wraparound services.

How soon can I move in?

Intake timelines vary, but many programs can process qualified applicants within 48–72 hours — especially if you’re in urgent need. Submit the form and we’ll prioritize your case.

Do you offer housing outside of Maryland?

Right now, we are focused on matching individuals with sober living programs within Maryland. We’ll expand to other states soon.

Do I need to be sober to apply?

Yes. Most programs require that you have at least a few days of sobriety and a willingness to stay clean while in the program. We do not place active users.

What should I have ready when someone contacts me?

Be prepared to share your Medicaid status, current situation, sobriety history, and whether you have any form of income or benefits. This helps us match you with the best-fit program.
